Canada Cup / Team Canada Kids' Softball Clinic FRIDAY, JULY 11 – 9:30AM TO 3:30PM

Come out and spend the day with Team Canada before they take on the competition at the 2008 Canada Cup!

At Canada Cup, spectators are thrilled as they watch the best in the world compete on the field. Now girls and boys will have the opportunity to be ON the diamond with some of these amazing athletes. Kids, aged 9 to 14, are invited to take part in the Canada Cup/Team Canada Kids' Softball Clinic and spend the day with some of our country's most accomplished and experienced players. The clinic will take place at Softball City on Friday July 11 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Net proceeds from the clinic will go to Team Canada. The clinic fee is only $35.00 CDN per child!

Team Canada will be facing some of the best teams in the world at the Canada Cup. “The Canada Cup has always been about showcasing the skills and abilities of the elite female athlete and helping them be the best they can be as well as inspiring the youth in the sport,” stated Glen Todd, Canada Cup Chairman. “We're extremely pleased that Team Canada have generously agreed, in the spirit of the Canada Cup, to share their time and expertise to help and encourage young players coming to the event.”

The clinic schedule gets underway with registration at 8.30 am. Every child attending the clinic will receive a free t-shirt. At 9.30 am, Team Canada members will begin the clinic with an inspirational talk leading into defence drills which are set to go until 12 noon. Participants will be provided with a free hot dog and soft drink when they break for lunch at noon. The afternoon session will run from 1.00 until 3.30 pm and will include hitting skills as well as instruction in pitching and catching. During an afternoon break, Team Canada members will share stories with the participants and discuss some of the finer points of the game. All kids participating in the clinic will also receive a free Canada Cup child or teen general admission ticket to come back and watch Team Canada in action on Opening Day at Canada Cup on Saturday, July 12.

Don't miss out!   This clinic is only $35.00 CDN per child. Space is restricted and will be available on a first come, first served basis and pre-registration is mandatory.
